The Night of 100 Elvises began in 1994 in Baltimore, Maryland, with an idea for an Elvis tribute show by Ken Delaney of the Society for the Preservation of American Roots Music. These popular weird and wonderful benefit galas continue as an annual celebration and in the true spirit of Elvism is a charity event .
