Estwing Splitting Maul with Hickory Wood Handle, 4.5-Lb., 36in., Model# EML-436W

I bought this back in the winter for splitting firewood. I love the design of the head splits really well handle is made of great quality but its just way to thick and bulky. Would definitely purchase again have split a cord of wood so far and am getting used to the fat handle always been a big fan of Estwing hammers hatchets and tools,and definitely better than spending hundreds of dollars on a tool to beat wood with lol.

Great geometry splits knotty spruce better than a 6lb traditional maul, came fairly sharp. The handle grain orientation is perfect. Would have gave 5 stars but that handle is the biggest thickest handle I've ever seen on any axe or maul, could support a 20lb head. I shaved at least 1/3 of the material off, now it's comfortable in the hand. Buy this maul especially if you have sasquatch hands or have wood whittlin skills.
