After a few e-mail exchanges with them, they courteously sent me a new base that was perfect, and I was not required to jump through a bunch of hoops by sending the first only back or getting charged for shipping. They were entirely courteous and respectful. I now have the umbrella and base, and both products more than meet my expectations as to quality and ease of use.
