The Pioneer Woman 18.4" Fiona Floral Rolling Pin

I don't bake very often, but with some recipes, a good rolling pin is an absolute must. My husband's family runs a flour mill (Sanford Milling Company), so we really take pride in how we make our biscuits. Rolling the dough out with your hands is okay, but a rolling pin really helps to spread the dough quickly and evenly. For years I've been keeping my rolling pin hidden in a drawer. It's gray, plastic, boring and not something I need to have out on my counter. I've been thinking about getting a new one, particularly one that isn't made of plastic, but something with more heft. When I saw the “Fiona” style rolling pin from the Pioneer Woman line of products, I just had to get it! I absolutely love the design on the cylinder of the pin. It's so colorful and pretty, and is the kind of thing I like displaying in my kitchen. I commandeered the wooden rolling pin stand from my old one, which keeps it from rolling and matches nicely with the Acacia wood handles. That is one drawback to this product—I wish it came with a stand, or I wish that the Pioneer Woman line would at least make one available for purchase. As I had desired, the rolling pin has some nice heft with its durable stoneware barrel, which rolls smoothly and has an easy-to-wipe-clean surface. That being said, I don't feel that it is too heavy for a youngster to handle. They might need a bit of supervision, but this product is not as heavy as some marble rolling pins I've seen in the past. I write this during the Christmas season, and look forward to using it again in the coming days, and for years to come.

Omg this rolling pin is truly beautiful. I've never seen a rolling pin as such. The photo did it no justice because I'm truly use to seeing plastic and wood roller pins only. The handles are wood but the roller its self is more of a porcelain or glass fiber. I'm truly in love and think I've now found my go to gift for my mom and good mom this Christmas so I surely will be purchasing two more so they can experience having one as well. It also makes me want to start making pie's more often. I love how easy it is to use and if you like me the handles are for show and the roller it self does the real work.
