Motion sensor dead, requires expensive cell plan

I fussed with this camera for about a month. The first hurdle that I encountered is that there is no WIFI connectivity, and a cell phone cannot 'talk' directly with this camera to adjust basic settings. Instead, you MUST pay for a cellular connectivity subscription just to format your micro SD card, and access and adjust other vital settings for the camera, such as selecting photo or video view, selecting the SD card or cloud as the destination for saving images. They give you a short introductory subscription -- I think it was for a week or two. Then, a one-month subscription is $19.90 a $0.59 foreign (China) transaction fee. American brands like Moultrie only charge about $9.99 per month. Good thing I didn't pay for more than a one-month subscription, or I would have lost over $200! The next problem I encountered is that this camera works with an app called Ucon that is not compatible with older cellphones like the iPhone 6, which I purchased for this camera. More time and money wasted. The next problem I encountered is that the owner's manual hardly gives you any information. They rushed this camera to market before writing up a proper owner's manual. And whoever wrote it, English is not their native language. So, I found myself emailing tech support (to a strange @yooomail address), which will answer your question within 24 hours, but even if you reply immediately, they don't respond back for about another 24 hours! So, by the time you figure out how to operate the camera, the 30-day return policy might expire. I believe that's their business 'plan' -- Drag their heels until you finally figure out that the camera is defective or won't work for your particular application. Eventually, I discovered that the motion detection (or IR) sensor on this camera was either defective or the sensor is just cheap and doesn't work. I don't know which, but this was a deal breaker. Thankfully, Walmart allowed me to return the camera for a refund. The lesson learned is that you get what you pay for. It's better to buy a higher-quality and more expensive camera with a cheaper cell service plan. I recommend an American product that has an actual corporate address and contact number, etc.
