Where to begin, I was looking to upgrade an old GTX 980 that wasn't quite cutting it fro gaming by my standards. I of course first went to the RTX line and EVGA who I usually stick with. Though the price/performance just wasn't quite the same as it'd been in the past as I usually go for the XX80 series.
Well I know I've been enjoying my Ryzen CPU so I figured I'd take a look at the AMD offering and was surprised that the RX 5700 XT cards are doing pretty well for their cost, next logical step it seemed was to go for a Nitro+ or Red Devil card. They were way over priced at the time I was looking so that was a bust and then I found out Asus made a version.
Early reviews as few as they were had me a little worried, but figured worse case I can return right? Well I'm happy to say they've solved the temp issues and I am loving this card. As in usual Asus fashion they try to over-engineer any of their products and sometimes there are hiccups that they are usually quick to fix.
I got an extra 100fps in my games, actually lowered my temps by about 5c, and it looks right sitting on the Crosshair VI board I currently have.
So TL:DR if you're in the market for a new card and want a great performer, at least give the ROG RX 5700 XT card a look. This is especially true if you see it go on any kind of sale.
