About this item
Product details
You will receive 1 Bare Root plant with a healthy root system. Niagara is an attractive, productive and vigorous variety with large, slip skin berries, juicy with a strong foxy flavor. Niagara is the leading green grape grown in the United States, used as a table grape and for juices and sweet wines. Although it has a following, Niagara is not known as a high-quality wine grape as it tends to have an abundance of "foxy" flavors and aromas, especially when ripe; harvest at 14° brix or earlier for wine production. When planting Niagara grapes, it's important to select the right location. Niagara grapes prefer a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Avoid areas with poor drainage, as Niagara grapes will struggle to thrive in such conditions. It's also important to note that Niagara grapes need a trellis or support system to climb. Planting within a few feet of a structure, such as a fence or wall, can provide a great support system for your Niagara grapes. Once you've chosen the perfect spot for your Niagara grapes, it's time to prepare the soil. Dig a hole that's twice as deep and twice as wide as the root ball of the plant. Add a generous amount of compost and a handful of balanced fertilizer to the hole, mixing it into the soil. This will help ensure your Niagara grapes have the nutrition they need to thrive. Next, it's time to transplant your Niagara grapes. Gently remove the plant from its container, and set it in the hole. Make sure the root ball is slightly below the soil line. Gently backfill the hole with soil, and water the area thoroughly. Once your Niagara grapes are planted, it's important to provide proper care. Water your Niagara grapes regularly, making sure to avoid overwatering. Prune your vines throughout the growing season, removing any dead or diseased foliage. Additionally, it's important to mulch your Niagara grapes to help retain moisture and keep weeds at bay. With proper care and attention, your Niagara grapes will be producing delicious, juicy grapes in no time. Enjoy the bounty of Niagara grapes in your garden in the form of fresh fruit, jams, and jellies. Grape Color White Primary Use Juice, Wine, Jelly Wine Color White Variety Origin C.L. Hoag and B.W. I was hesitant about purchasing but shipping was fast. I put it in the ground on April 17 and had pink buds by May 1st. Very pleased with these grapes considering I waited too long to order and most were out of stock. I highly recommend.
