These potty bells for dogs include one macramé dog doorbell strand that hangs off a doorknob or loops thru a patio door handle. Our dog bell for potty training is an essential tool to help house train your new furry friend. The dog potty bell should be used so your dog can hit the bells to let you know when they need to go outdoors to go potty. The dog training bell is essential part of your pet supplies. Our door bells for dogs to go outside is approximately 29 inches in length when completely stretched out. The loop opening at the top is approximately 5.5 inches long from clasp to hook. When hanging on a door knob with the clasp hooked, the bell is about 26 inches long. Product will be delivered with cute, fun and premium packaging. Instructions
1. Have your pup touch your hand with his or her nose; reward with a treat. You can do this by holding the hand close to your dog’s nose, but under the chin, palm up. You can also rub the scent of the treat on the open hand to entice your dog to touch it.
2. Repeat this process for 1 to 2 minutes each day until the behavior sticks. (Note: Some dogs will pick up these steps more quickly than others. It may take a few hours, a few days or even a few weeks depending on your puppy.)
3. Place the bells on the floor. Have your dog touch the bells with his or her nose; reward with a treat. Repeat this process for 1 to 2 minutes each day until the behavior sticks.
4. Next, hold the bells in the air a few inches from your dog’s nose. This will make it easier for him or her to perform this next step. Have your dog touch the bells with his or her nose; reward with a treat. Repeat this process for 1 to 2 minutes each day until the behavior sticks.
5. Repeat the process of holding the bells in the air but this time, hold the bells up near the door knob. Repeat the treat process.
6. Hang the bells on the door. Have your dog touch the bells with his or her nose; reward with a treat. Repeat this process for 1 to 2 minutes each day until the behavior sticks.
7. Once your dog is comfortable touching the bells on the door, repeat the process but open the door and toss the treat outside for your dog to chase out the door. The placement of the reward will help him or her learn to move through the open door. Repeat this process for 1 to 2 minutes each day until the behavior sticks.
8. Over time, your dog will learn that ringing the bells means the door will open and he or she can go outside to relieve himself or herself.
Pro Tip: Use petting or other, non-edible forms of endearment as reward with the treats. This will help to ensure your dog doesn't associate the bell with treats and start begging after it rings the bell.
