timer is useless

the toaster is nice but the timer is worthless. you cannot set a temprature.nor a time. too imprecise. haVE to watch it like a hawk. have TO shut off burners once you have fugured out how to do that. it keeps ticking and light stays on. to make sure it is really off,have to unplug it. it does toast nicely and evenly. but the timer is a real drag.
