Cost-effective and performs well

I was an early adopter of ethernet over power line technology when it came out a number of years ago. I use it in my network-enabled AV system. I recently added more equipment with ethernet connections to my system. However, my older power line adapter that provided this connection only had one ethernet port. I was going to get a four-port switch to remedy this situation, but found this item instead. It has the four-port switch built in, which reduces clutter considerably over a separate single-port unit with an added switch. Not only is the setup much simpler and more compact than what I was originally planning on using, but it solved an intermittent sound dropout problem I was having with my older ethernet over power line adapter when streaming music over my network and simultaneously downloading large files. Even better, the cost is lower than similar items sold by online computer specialty shops. It even includes two ethernet cables, but these are of the CAT5 variety, which only officially supports a 100Mbps data transfer rate, not 500Mbps. I just used some CAT5e cables I already had.

Easy installation

My SMART TV , that was located in the basement would not pick up my wireless signal. I plugged this in, connected the wires and immediately was connected. It was so easy.

Adequately fast for streaming

These achieve at least HD streaming speeds across 2 circuits (i.e. 2 breakers). Stable 25 Mbps at least.
