CD CARSON-DELLOSA Camping Bulletin Board Decorations with Woodland Animals, Multicolor, 48 Count

We use the Accelerated Reading program in our building. I add the point club numbers to bulletin boards like this then use it for our hallway. I always invite all the other teachers in my grade level to join my hallway display for AR if they would like to. I know, many people disagree with this, but used strategically, it can be a way to teach encouragement, acceptance, and team spirit. We look to see how many first graders are in a certain club, congratulate those achieving this, build up those not quite there yet with the "It's not how fast you get there, it's that you get there!" attitude. Students move their own character through the clubs and when our entire class achieves a new club we celebrate. We don't ever leave anyone behind. Also, any students needing read to in order to achieve, I find a way to make that happen so success is guaranteed in my classroom through differentiation and motivation not through embarrassment or negatives. (Just in case someone out there was worried. I know it's a challenging subject.)
