For lightweight storage
Yes, they are light weight plastic, but, they are ultra clear you can see every item inside the box. the whole lid is hinged and it's molded in one piece. I use them to kit up different craft projects: cross stitch, scrapbooking, sewing, beading. Concave lids make for sturdy stacking, viewing and sorting are then quick and effortless.

I was very disappointed because this box is ultra clear but it is so flimsy and thin. It doesn't hold much, like papers, but it could hold very, very lightweight things, like feathers.
