Make sure you are sitting down!

I decided a long time ago that reading fiction was unnecessary since there are so many amazing factual stories out there. If I ever need to back that theory up I would present this book as “Exhibit A”. It is a true gift to be entertained while learning and this book pours on the coals for both fronts. It helps to have a basic understanding of airplane control surfaces (i.e. flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudder) but even non- pilots like myself will have no trouble following the action and the issue at hand for each “mission” thanks to the author not getting off into the weeds with concepts only a trained pilot would understand. I really enjoyed the author's writing style; a combination of dead-serious scenarios mixed with seasoned humor. He also succeeds in showing the reader the human side of all involved: both American and Mexican. When the book arrived in the mail, I took it to my kitchen bar to unbox and before I realized it the day was almost gone and I had burned through half of this adventure while standing in the exact place I unboxed it. The stories are magnetic! I passed it off to a pilot neighbor (sorry Bill!) and I have not seen him outside for two days now. I'm sure he is in the same spot where he opened the book. Don't confuse this with drug smuggling. It is not.
