“Chemical” taste. Ugh!

I have made and enjoyed preserved lemons for years, but thought I would save time by purchasing. Happily, I tasted before adding to recipe, because the Mina preserved lemon had an odd chemical taste. Ingredients list only lemon, salt and water, so maybe it is the unusual variety of lemon, but it doesn't make sense to me that any lemon would give a chemical taste. Threw jar away. Back to making my own…
