Great product if you know

After reading reviews especially bad reviews and me being a 25 year painter,1. know what type of paint was on your floor before putting latex, 2. this is a Latex paint review NOT oil based, 3. Lady that did tile put primer first, excellent, Did you put primer first after stripping wood? What was embedded in that wood oils ? etc.that could cause latex to not dry properly... Know what was on your floor before putting any paint be it Urethane, oil, latex, Alkyd , marine..Thats what makes it work or not..I put this on NEW wood outside primed wood first light coat, then covered it with the GRAY Valspar... No problems also added non skid material to it, dried in 1 hour on a low humidity 65 degree day..No your weather also, theres more to painting than just sanding , priming etc.. dew point humidity and temps. play a huge role.....

This is Very Good!

I bought a previously owned house, and the last owners had dogs and cats for pets. They had carpet everywhere in their house, and the carpet was saturated with dog and cat urine. They stank really bad, so I had to remove them. I acid cleaned the concrete floors, and also use bleach and Pine-Sol. However, there was still this mild stench from the dog and cat urine. So, I used Seal Krete Lock Down concrete Bonding Primer. I let it dry the recommended 2 hour time limit, and then applied Valspar Latex Porch and Floor Paint, because it comes in a variety of colors. I allowed this to cure for 72 hours, and then applied Seal Krete Clear Seal, and allowed that to dry and cure for an additional 72 hours. My floors look excellent, and and the Valspar paint color goes great with my floors that are tiled. Plus, I don't have to hurry up and tile the painted floors, so I can now save money to buy the tiles. Also, allowing the Valspar paint to dry for 72 hours instead of 24 hours makes it hard, and the Seal Krete Clear Seal makes it hard as a rock, and it looks like tile. I will be using Valspar when I do my screened in porch concrete floor, too. This is a great product when used properly.

Wears like iron.

I love this paint. We used it on the previously painted wood flooring in our house and in the basement. Have to say that I am very impressed with how it's holding up after almost two years of heavy foot traffic and moving alot of furniture around. Regarding some of the bad reviews, I think people have to understand the importance of prep work. The most important thing in any paint job is cleaning and applying good quality primer that will bind it all. If you don't have the right primer nothing, and I mean nothing will stick! Also it is latex, it does seem to always be a bit tackier than the old oil base paints but not to much so. Believe me, if prepped right this stuff will hold up to pretty much anything and cleans up very well (I did my floors off white and have 4 kids here!) It made our hundred year old house look fantastic I think! Forgot to mention it covered a horrible old dark green mess of a floor like a dream. I love this paint!
