small and efficient

I purchased this item for my camping trips so as to have a source for lights and small appliances. It fits well with my gear and is easy to start. Runs quiet and is long on a tank of gas. Being a four stroke makes it convenient to operate plus much quieter. Great value!

Tough little generator!!

I purchased this generator through Walmart Online to run only the things in my room during a power outage. On arrival I fillled it with oil & gasoline. It started on the 2nd pull & ran smoothly. Now this is what I had it connected to: 5000 btu window a/c unit, 3.3 cf refrigerator, 100w overhead light, 32" HD LED TV, sound bar, VCR/DVD combo player, C-Pap (breathing) machine, 16" oscillating floor fan, & cell ph charger. I had all this running at once & on a 12ga 100ft power cord I only had a 4% power drop! The a/c compressor had a little trouble getting started but did start & run numerous times. I did purchase an SPP-5 start booster (for the a/c compressor) & now it has no problem starting right up. This thing is a little HOSS!! It also uses all metal parts instead of many other small generators that have mostly plastic parts. The Champion people back this thing up with a 1yr labor & 2 yr parts warranty! It's also VERY quiet. I thought I had a fuel indicator problem, called the 800#, & got a live tech on the ph in under a minute. He walked me through the procedure & I had the gauge working in 4 minutes. You just can't beat this generator for quality, noise, price, & service!! John Mc P.S.: No, I don't work for Champion, I'm just very impressed.

Good product for the money. I would recommend

I compared many generators. This was clearly the best value for the money. I almost bought a used Honda, but even used the price was cost-prohibitive, since I would use it only a few times per yr if that. Electricity does not go out much in Seattle where I live, but if/ when it does I am ready. Camping this thing will pay for itself. I was mainly interested in how loud it was, since the majority of these things are so obnoxiously loud I would never want one blaring in my ear for hrs on end, let alone torture neighbors or other campers when using. This thing is only about 61-65 db. It is well-made, Champion makes many others so they know what they are doing. Starts immediately and does not burn a lot of gas. I am not powering a small city, or needless electrical items - power will eventually come back on so this was ideal.
