There is a steel tube stem welded to a funnel cone creating a half-a-millimeter height around the stem inside the funnel resulting in retaining some oil. If the stem and cone were welded seamlessly, every drop would've dripped down. That's the only flaw I see in it. The plastic part is of high quality, and the net is very very fine catching every small particle, and thus the frying oil can be used couple more times before discarding.
