Works great and looks good too.

I really wanted a butter bell because I don't like contending with cold butter when I want to spread it on things. I like that it keeps it soft and room temp. And being in the south, I'm sure I'm going to be happy that the water keeps out bugs, like gnats, come spring. Just let the butter sit for a bit to soften and then use the paper that comes on the butter to smush it into the bell part.
