Key item features

Born in Mexico and raised in Spain, teen sensation Fey began conquering the world of bubblegum pop at the tender age of 19. Released in 1996, TIERNA LA NOCHE is her second album, with international sales of more than one million copies and a single, "Azucar Amargo," that made it to the Billboard Top-40 Latin singles chart.

Although she belongs to a genre where prefabricated starlets come and go, Fey managed to create a musical identity of her own, combining energetic drum-machine beats with sugary Latin pop and idealistic lyrics. A hummable guilty pleasure, "Azucar Amargo" distills a nostalgic, bittersweet feeling in its lingering chorus. And Fey is certainly willing to take her share of risks, better exemplified by the bouncy "Popocatepetl," an ode to the famous active Mexican volcano, which includes a shimmering cascade of keyboard effects and a gutsy battery of clashing electronic beats.
