Good purchase and value. I found that I needed to heat it in the the hot water longer than the instructions called for. But it tolerated the extended heat fine . ( So did the other women who had one) It also took more than one molding to get it to be comfortable. You have to play with it to get it to fit your mouth .. that is to be expected I think . . I only had to trim one side. The string is to use when you lift the mouth piece into and out of the hot water. Be sure to use the insert /spacer that keeps the breathing space from closing during the heating and molding process.. be sure to put it back in if you reheat too. I am grateful to get a case to hold and store the mouth guard as well. For 5.00 and 5 shipping it was better price than amazon and fit the bill for protecting my upper and lower teeth for my Krav Magah womens self defense class.

I started wearing this instead of my CPAP machine. It slightly holds my lower jaw forward and eliminates teeth grinding. Restful sleep without snoring, I bought a second one to keeping in the camper. It takes a little to get used to but now I often forget it's in when wake up.
