After graduating with honors from Spelman College, Shayla Richardson, a small-town country girl, moves to the city. Shayla gets a job as a business analyst at a big company and becomes very successful in her career, but there is only one thing missing-a man to share it all with. Shayla has trouble finding a decent man in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, as she dates many guys, but can't seem to find the "one" for her. She encounters many weird, strange, self-centered, childish, irresponsible guys, which has made her very bitter and tough on men. She can be quite feisty at times. Even though Shayla feels like giving up, she keeps her faith. However, her friends have similar problems. Monique is married, but sneaking around, which irritates Shayla to no end; Monique has a good man and is never satisfied. Daniel is one of Shayla's best friends and is going through a divorce, and cares very deeply for her. Marilyn is a co-worker, confidant, and very close friend of hers. Will Shayla find Mr. Right?
