Forever in my purse

Nietzsche makes you have a conversation with yourself, at times, questions how you think. This is a book that should be carried on your person as you are never truly done reading it, even if you think you are.

one of the classics of modern philosophy.

This is the follow-up to thus spoke zarathustra. It covers a lot of the same ideas, but the writing style is quite different. it is a deep book and tackles some of the biggest questions in a way that may be difficult for some readers.

Hollingdale's translations of Nietzsche are uniformly literal and true to the original while still being readable. "Beyond Good And Evil" is an important work in Nietzsche's philosophy, so a good English translation is also important so you are as close to what Nietzsche said as possible. I also like Tanner's introduction, as an orientation to a book that requires study to understand. If you can only get one translation of BGE, you probably should stick to the Penguin Classic.
