Note that the size is the outside dimension of the front legs at the floor. Therefore your opening must be at least 6" longer than that to accommodate the taper.

Just purchased this steel grate and am impressed with how heavy the metal construction is. It's much heavier that the grate it is replacing so I'm sure it will be much more durable.

Sturdy with Lifetime Warranty

I purchased this 3/4" fireplace grate with 9 support bars because my last grate (1/2")did not hold up when burning White Oak logs and it was not covered by a warranty. The 3/4" with 9 bars is the ultimate ... made for 36" fireplaces.
