Charlotte Doyle

strongly believe the True Confession of Charlotte Doyle is a perfect book for most adventure readers and 5th graders. I would recommend the True Confession of Charlotte Doyle because of its surprising twists. Such as this example, Captain Jaggery, the antagonist or the bad guy in the story, had his entire crew revolt against him. My second reason is because of its surprising conflict. Captain Jaggery pretended to be Charlotte Doyle's, the protagonist or the good guy of the story how the main character is also, friend so he could be able to find out if the crew were going to turn on him. The third reason is because I liked how Avi used foreshadowing to build suspense. For example, when Charlotte was fetching a needle, you could infer that something bad was going to happen. And something bad did happen…she found a pistol. Even though Captain Jaggery said there were no weapons aboard the ship but his own. Charlotte also found a round robin, which Captain Jaggery said was bad news, more information later. That is all of that information that makes me strongly believe that the book, The True Confession of Charlotte Doyle, should be recommended to most adventure readers. Okay a round robin is circle inside a circle used with names around so none is on bottom or top.
