I'm not sure that this is a good choice for a 4 1/2 year old boy, but his mom asked for it, I got it and he loved it. It was not taken out of the box (Mom said No!) It looked sturdy. Mom and Dad were pleased.

Our kids love it

Our son is 4 1/2, which some say is too young, but it was perfect for our son who wants to practice his "archery skills" with his dad safely. Our 6 1/2 y.o. daughter loves it too. It was the best gift on Christmas morning! It is stronger than you would expect so give some room to shoot, but it's fun and appears durable. Good for hand-eye coordination for younger ones, but would still be really fun for older kids as well.
