Sunpentown Heavy Duty Air Cleaner with HEPA, Carbon, VOC and TiO2 Filters, White AC-2102

I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for myself. I needed a heavy duty air cleaner to combat smoke and toxic fumes from a plastics factory located next door, which has been causing me respiratory problems for years. The inexpensive air cleaners I've purchased in the past were not up to the job. I picked this product after doing considerable on-line research, because it has multiple air filters of different types that not only remove particles from the air, but can also remove certain types of fumes. It was the lowest priced unit I found that had all the different types of filters I require, plus the ability to circulate a large volume of air. I can't comment on the effectiveness of this device at cleaning the air at this time, because the factory, which is the source of toxic air pollution that this air cleaner was purchased to combat, has been closed for the holidays. However, I can say that I'm very impressed by the solid construction of the device, the large filters, and it's ability to circulate air over a wide range of low and high speeds. It also has an ultraviolet lamp designed to kill airborne germs, a built-in timer, and an automatic mode which appears to adjust the fan speed in response to the changing level of contaminants in the air. Although it is a heavy unit, it's easy to move from room to room on the built in wheels. The only complaint I have so far is a minor one. An illuminated fan icon, which is designed to look like a rotating fan, looks like a flashing light from a distance and I find that to be very distracting. I solved that problem by placing a piece of black tape over the illuminated fan icon. Based on the high quality of this unit, it appears to offer excellent value for the price and I believe it will be able to solve my air pollution problem when the factory reopens.
