Works as advertised

I use this in with an old Dell laptop that doesn't have any USB 3.0 ports. I added this card and it works perfectly with Ubuntu first with Ubuntu 18.04 then upgraded and it's still working. Speed is excellent exactly what you would expect better than many windows USB 3.0 ports. Why Microsoft can't write drivers for there expensive OS as well as the ones written for an essentially free OS (I do contribute) I'll never understand. Linux or windows it works.

Best device for this purpose I have seen.

I bought this about 4 months ago. It It is very good for WIN10 and moderately useful for Linux 18.04, There are no drivers for Linux from StarTech yet. I have a dual boot computer. I also suggest the power insert be in a position that does not project either left or right of the card. It interferes with the CD /DVD on my Dell Laptop. Alternately, provide a right angle connector to the current card.
