I don't like huge bags and as I studied the seller images and info, I thought I might be correct about this item and I am. It has some structure to it but it is soft material. It looks a bit frumpy when first opening but after filling, it is perfect in appearance and other wise. If you don't want to look like a bag woman carrying a humongous bag, but you want a bag roomy enough for all your items, you'll probably appreciate this bag. This bag can be opened wide and has many storage compartments including the optional shoulder strap. The outside back has a long deep zip compartment. It's large enough you could fit a compact tablet or a good size planner journal, etc. It's not a tight space so you have the option of placing a lot of stuff in the outer back zip compartment. Notice the water bottles in my image. Same size water bottle in the size pocket. It fit very comfortably, no forcing. Both the outer side pockets are roomy and the upper area of each has the metal loops for the optional shoulder strap. The front has 2 small zip front pockets. Yes, those are not as deep as you might think. They are large enough for a cosmetic compact or usb charger, or other small items. The reason they are not real big is because, yes, there is 2 more pockets behind them. The two front pockets behind the zip pockets, are very large and deep and close by way of velcro. They're plenty large enough for a big mobile phone. The velcro does not go all the way across those but in the middle of each, thereby able to retrieve your phone or whatever other contents, quickly. Above those at the top front is the long deep front zip pocket. Here again, that is mighty roomy and will fit a lot of items. All the hardware is silver tone and durable. Inside has a logo lining and the entire inside is very roomy. The inside back has one rather short zip compartment that will hold keys or various small items. On the front inside is two very large deep pockets, in one of my images, you can see my entire hand is down in the left pocket. Overall, it is pretty nice. It's not extremely wide length wise and that's a big aide in not making it look like you have a kitchen sink inside. I'm not a big fan of the shiny straps and would have preferred the same color as the bag in a durable material. Not a deal breaker. The straps are very durable, tightly sewn. In fact, there is not a loose thread anywhere on or in this bag. I like the khaki color because it is an any season, any time, color. The more you put into this bag, the larger it will appear to be. Don't overload it, and it will appear smaller. I'd certainly say, it's a good value.
