I know we have to use STRAW, not hay and not wood chips, but this was an emergency. I put the chips inside a sturdy plastic bag, tied tightly to place under a temporary shelter for a cat on my porch. No harm was done. I also used a pet warming pad. I believe the chips made the warming pad more effective against the concrete cold.

Love the little bales...used to get the real big bale, it is more economical, however with age and disability it is easier to carry the little one and the size is perfect as it is the perfect amount to put in dog houses for comfort, warmth and pest repellent when they are out for the day.
