Hairy vetch (Vicia villosa) is a vigorous, nitrogen-fixing cover crop known for its ability to enrich poor soils and survive cold winters. This non-GMO, heirloom variety is best sown in the fall to overwinter and mowed in spring as a green manure. Maturing in 80–90 days, it grows into dense 6–8 ft vines with purple tubular blooms. Perfect for revitalizing compact or uncultivated soils, suppressing weeds, and adding organic biomass. No serious pests or diseases. Broadcast and lightly tamp into the soil; no thinning needed. ~1,250 seeds per ounce.
