I should have spent more.

This is not made of straw. There is a screen mesh that the fibers are woven through. One perimeter wire in the brim is the only firm structure, so the hat takes time and effort to shape. The hat is shipped in a plastic bag with no crown support, which adds to the shaping problem. The hurricane strap/cord is sewn into the brim and cannot be removed short of cutting it off. I should have spent more on a finer quality hat.
