The MacArthur Study Bible

This book has been a great reference for my studies through the Bible. Excellent notes throughout the scriptures. Also, there are charts, maps, and special notes to help understand the way people were and lived and the events of the time related to the scriptures. John's notes open up scriptural meaning and typically include cross referencing to other verses. This continues to be a very handy reference in a single volume. A wonderful way to read through the Bible that will answer many questions along the way. In both the Old and New Testament books, each begins with notes on the Title, Author, Date, Background, Setting, Historical and Theological Themes, Interpretive Challenges, and an Outline of the respective book. I use this study Bible to read through the Bible each year.
