Also known as a chain boomer or ratchet boomer, truck binders are used to tighten transport chain with a safe and efficient ratcheting action. This 1/2", 5/8" ratchet binder from Durabilt features forged alloy steel components and smooth, continuous take-up on 1" diameter Acne threads. Designed for easy clean-up of ice, snow, and mud, and a powder coat finish protects from the elements and corrosion. This ratchet chain binder can be used with either 1/2-inch Grade 100 or 120, or 5/8-inch Grade 30, 43, 70, or 80 chain. There are 2 main grades of chain for tie-down applications; Grade 43 High Test Chain and Grade 70 Transport Chain. The 2 measurements marked on the binder indicate which size chain to use and with which grade. Grade 43 chain is also known as log chain or logging chain. Grade 70 chain is stronger and more durable than standard log chain and is commonly used for logging applications. Satisfies DOT and CVSA requirements.
