Pennington Fairway Supreme Perennial Ryegrass Grass Seed Blend, Rye Grass Seeds for Lawn, 50 lb, for Full to Partial Sun

I have several live oak trees in my back yard and it is hard to get grass to grow there. I had experience with rye grass but this time I decided to plant perennial instead of annual even though the cost was about twice as much. I received the seed promptly and immediately went out and raked the soil and then I broadcast the seed by hand and raked over it with the back of the rake to help cover it a little. I sprinkled it down with water and a within a week it started popping up. I kept watering it but the weather here in Texas was unusual warm and dry for this time of year so although the grass grew, it didn't fill in like I wanted. Finally, after about 5 weeks of watering, we got a rain. And we have received a couple of more showers since then and now my yard is green and looks really good. And the plus is that next year, it should come up again without me doing anything except maybe some overseeding. This is a good product and I am extremely satisfied. My soil is supposed to be a sandy loam but it seems to be more sand, so it dries out fast. Despite that, the grass has flourished.
