Love that it comes fully assembled. I found that it is best to make the chipmunk walk completely across the trap to get the bait as they are pretty tricky and will steal it otherwise. So far it has caught 7 chipmunks and one squirrel. The squirrels are not are main interest as they do not cause the damage the chipmunks cause. It has worked outside in the garden, on a staircase, and inside the garage. Loading the bait is easy and, once you get used to it, so is setting the trap. My favorite feature is that when it is time to let them go at a nearby park, it is very easy to release them.

Trap and then drop them off in the yard of someone

I bought this trap to catch squirrels who had done massive amounts of damage to the wiring of my new car. I have been putting out deterrent daily and so far they are interested, but no chewing. Im hoping that moving them 3-4 miles away will take care of the problem. I had to read the directions quite a few times to figure out the setup. Once I did, it was easy to do. It is very sturdy and it has a metal plate on top under the handle so you won't get bit by the critter. I might get another to make it twice as fast.

This 18" Live Trap by Homestead is a welcome tool in helping to remove unwanted small pests from yard in a humane way. Detailed instructions on adjusting trap, setting the trap, and releasing the animal are included. This heavy-duty metal trap should last a long time. Found it works good for capturing little mice, rats, and ground squirrels using a tiny bit of peanut butter as a bait - and smaller rabbits with lettuce. Best of all, the animals are able to be removed from our yard and released in to the wild without harm!
