Broke on the second hole

I am a homeowner drilling 1 1/4" holes for plumbing. Although I had a lot of binding, once it took off the first hole drilled like butter. When I drilled the second hole I got a lot of binding then the shank just broke. Going to try to exchange it and try it one more time. Not sure I would buy another though.

Shank too small

As an electrical contractor I go through a lot of wood boring bits. When these first came out they had a 3/8" shank and they Rocked!! Now they've gone to 1/4" shanks and are no longer suitable for commercial use. my drill bends or straight up shears the shank in half within minutes.
