I actually, like most became familiar with Bourne through the Matt Damon. This is a totally different twist, but I really liked the film as a hole.
Don't expect an Action Movie like the Matt Damon version. This is totally different from that, & you will need to remember that Action & Spy thrillers were different then what you see today. I watched it twice, and got much more out of the film the second time.
There are a few steamy scenes, when so be careful when viewing with youngsters.
I really enjoyed seeing Jaclyn Smith play this part. She did a terrific job. Her crying, confusion, etc...very realistic. The only thing that did not make sense to me was why she helped Bourne aka David Webb. This was tied in really well in the Matt Damon version, but not this. It left me confused.
Another thing you may notice is Marie's name in this is Marie St. Jacques. The Matt Damon version is Marie Helena Kreutz. I never read the book so there we have it.
I would recommend this. The disk I bought was 188 minutes & the first half was a little slow going, but ties everything together in the end. It is an Anamorphic Wide Screen 1:85, which played as full frame on my wide screen TV. I hate those 2:35 or 2:40 wide screens. I have a 50" TV and cannot see the point of watching a 12" tall picture.
