2013 tacoma , it's look

2013 tacoma , it's look great on the truck. After a couple weeks I noticed one of the panel have a couple of bubbles. I called customer service and they took care of the problem . They ordered me a new one and I ship the old one back. Great Service , I would buy more stuff from real truck in the future. ....?????????????

Not a good fit for a Tacoma

The issue is more on the Toyota side. Because of the box design significant amounts of water get into the box at the front end of the box. Extang or Real Truck needs to provide a solution if they are going to sell the cover for the Tacoma. I ended up plugging the gaps with silicone caulk. Not an optimal solution!???????????????????????????????

A pale shadow of its predecessors, do not buy

First of all, I love the solid trifold concept. I have an Extang trifold on an earlier truck that is going strong after a decade of service. It has carried numerous loads on top of the cover, such as French doors and patio doors, that are too wide for the truck bed. It has been so good that I naturally purchased a new one when I got a new truck. Sorry to say, but this is an inferior product. The hinge that allows the rearmost section to fold back failed just two weeks in. Apparently it was due to me forgetting to close that rear section, I hit 80 km/h and the wind flipped it closed. This happened dozens of times on my old Extang without affecting the hinge, but the new "improved" design failed the very first time this happened. Extang won't warranty a hinge malfunction in this condition, despite this being a fairly foreseeable occurrence. They were able to make a slam-proof hinge before, why can't they now? The quick, toolless removal of the cover is a thing of the past. The serrated jaws of the redesigned hold down mechanism bite in so hard that they must be pried away from the bed rails. Reinstallation is OK, but again, this seems like a backward step from the old design that's been working hard for me for a decade. Look around for an alternative to Extang until they fix these weaknesses. Or find an old one, they're bombproof.
