Peeper, yes. Salt, NO

The blue one works great, I love how fine it chops up the pepper. The white one? Either I got a defective one or they aren't designed for salt. I turn it the same way as the pepper one and all it does it loosen the top. Try the other way and top just gets tight until it can't even turn anymore. Meanwhile I have to shake the thing to get a tiny amount of salt to come out.
