Perfect blue for sky and sea

Love this paint. It's got an irresistible vibrancy and has just the right bit of teal in it to perfectly capture the sharp blues you see high up in the sky on crystal clear days. Also an excellent blue for capturing that happy place somewhere between green and blue in oceans that reflect bright blue skies above.

What can I say, Rembrandt paint is just great. I have used their product for many years now. When I make sky colors I like a lot of variations in it. So depending on the sky (time of day) I use a variety of blues along with the Kings blue we are talking about here. There is a mixture of Rembrandt, Kings Blue, and a bit of Manganese Blue Phth with white of course, that makes a beautiful lower horizon portion of the sky. I can also add Rembrandt Ultramarine blue to move it darker as it goes up into the sky. As a note, a touch of Cad. Orange can help knock down the blue a little in the highest parts of the sky if needed.

Rembrandt Paint is always a good choice. Burnt Umber is a real work horse in a landscape weather it be in the toning of the linen, or the day to day color mixing. I like the big tubes in the studio, but occasionally purchase a 40ml tube to take to the field with me.
