Sunset Vista Designs 415209 - 11.5" Cardinal Christmas Tree Ornament

I really wanted to like this item, but it wasn't to be. I loved the way it looked in the listing, but when it arrived and I saw it in person, I was really disappointed. It just looked cheap and tacky, and I wasn't willing to even consider displaying at anywhere, I just wanted it out of my house. Additionally, it arrived in a flimsy plastic mailer bag - not sure if that's the correct term, but it was basically a sealed opaque white shipping bag, with no padding, and the item itself was inside a separate, clear plastic bag, and that was it - there was no protective material, like packing paper or anything, just this thing mailed out inside two plastic bags. So it wasn't surprising that one little piece was broken off of the item when I opened it. That wasn't a deal-breaker, though - I could've easily glued the piece back on - but that wasn't going to make it look any less cheap or tacky. When I contacted Walmart to initiate a return, they sent notification to the seller, who I was told is a 3rd-party seller, and Walmart advised that I should be receiving an email from the seller within 48 hours. More than 48 hours passed, but I never heard from the seller at all. I checked my spam and every other category in my email just to make sure, but no. When I reached out to Walmart again, they said they (Walmart) hadn't gotten a response from the seller either. And actually I found that even more discourteous than the seller having not contacted me. I mean, to my understanding (and I could be completely wrong about this, but here goes), the 3rd-party seller is being allowed to seller their merchandise on Walmart's website - which is something you would think the 3rd-party seller would've chosen to do in order to reach a greater number of potential customers - and I can't imagine Walmart will be interested in continuing having this business relationship with this 3rd-party seller if this incident is in any way indicative of this 3rd-party seller's usual style of conducting business. Anyway, I know I don't need to defend Walmart, they're able to handle that themselves, but it's the principle. So, back to the situation: When I contacted Walmart to let them know I never heard from the seller, and Walmart said they never heard from the seller either, Walmart offered to refund me for the item, and I gratefully accepted the offer. (As an aside, I want to make note here that EVERY time I've ever contacted Walmart Customer Support, I've been helped by incredibly courteous, competent, considerate human beings who come across as sincerely dedicated to resolving whatever the issue might be to the best of their ability, and dedicated to ensuring that the ultimate resolution is something that seems reasonable and very fair to the customer (in this case, me). Shout-out to you folks in Walmart Customer Support!! Your awesomeness is greatly appreciated!!) So while I can't, under any circumstances, recommend this item, or its 3rd-party seller, Walmart was great about it.
