Gymax 52'' Ceiling Fan with 3 Wind Speeds 5 Reversible Blades & Remote Control Black

I bought the fan as a Christmas present. I hope it works good. I'm disappointed because the shade is plastic. In the listing there's no mention that it's plastic. I wish Walmart would stop using Fedex. The package was delivered in the dark and put 2 foot from the highway. My drive is literally 30 foot long til you get to my lighted porch. I don't have a gate. The driver just sat it on it's side. Thank goodness no one ran over it since mailboxs get run over on an almost nightly basis. I looked everywhere for my package but never dreamed it was beside the highway so I didn't see it til the next day when the sun came up.

One important thing to note is that the decorative light cover is a very thick plastic, not glass. The gemstones are also held in with wire, which is the metallic decorative element you see in the photo. This made me skeptical at first that it would look cheap/tacky, but once the fan was up it looked fine. It's definitely not as noticeable from a distance. Also, on the plus side, it makes the fixture quite a bit lighter. The install directions were okay, but some useful information was missing. For instance, there are plastic pieces already screwed into the base (with the screws you need) that you have to remove in order to install the fan blades. Overall though, this is pretty easy to assemble. So far, it runs well. Totally silent and no wobble. I would recommend it, especially if you get a good deal on the price.
