I am an avid mail sender and love doing envelope art. I do calligraphy but it's not my sole lettering style and I find myself needing a line on blank paper often - and a pencil mark is not always a easily removable or feasible option. Using the laser as a guideline is helpful and leaves no mark. I do have to be very aware that my dogs aren't around when I use it to avoid them "chasing the laser" and be mindful of your eye protection while using. it's obviously also a great level and useful for hanging pictures and art, carpenters would definitely find this useful for table saw cutting - I have wanted to find a basic laser level for hand lettering and whether it's for your annual holiday cards or you send mail regularly - this is a great tool for keeping those lines straight.
