Honestly this was the cheapest type of this item that met my criteria but it was not clear what exactly the backing was. But when i got it, its exactly what i wanted. Not solid wood throughout but mdf slats and a hard foam backing board, perfect for acoustic treatment uses. All the othets have solid wood/mdf as a backing which is too much reflective surface. Having the space between the slats open to the hard foam backing makes this a perfect blend of some harder surface diffusion and some more absorbative foam inbetween and as backing. Makes it weigh less too so its much easier to mount. Some of the edges of the mdf slats were chipped when i opened it, probably from shipping hence the 4 star. But for the price im ok with that. Not gonna lie, if i win this survery, a chunk will be funding more of these as this one pack i bought to test how it looked, backing, quality etc, and now that i know its exactly what i need, i need like 6 more packs. so heres to keeping my fingers crossed lol

Wow! Best price on the Internet and just gorgeous in my home studio. Dampened the sound on just one wall and looks awesome. Now I have to hang paintings and paint the walls. I highly recommend these.
