Think outside the box.

I do not know if this would make a good camp shower. I do know that it works great to supply a sink in my granddaughter's mud kitchen. That is what I got it for and she loves it!

functional, heavy, slightly awkward, but works.

All right, so right off the bat a couple things I cannot speak to. I cannot tell you what the longevity of this product is. For the price it's really nice. But at the same time it's just heat sealed seams on flexible rubber and plastic. I also cannot tell you if it really gets up to 120° F in the sun considering the season we're in and the weather we've been having. But anything in the neighborhood of above 80 should be comfortable. I can't tell you how long the tube is going to stay in a non-deteriorated fashion because that has to do with sunlight exposure and time and weather and use. But here are the things I can say. I filled this thing up with roughly 120° water. The bag clearly states 50° C. that's roughly 120 125°F. It seems to hold it just fine. The problem coming out of the package is, the clear tube is bent in two spots so that it fits in the package. everybody has a different way of reforming these deformed tubes, I wish it wasn't packed that way. I would suggest coiling it but it is what it is. Now, I used the plastic reinforcement bar and not the string. I feel like the string probably would work for half a bag's weight. I didn't have a proper way to weigh the bag with 5 gallons of water in it. however, it would probably be fine with two or 2 and 1/2 gallons in it. Now according to my estimates, I've run 2 and 1/2 gallons through it at 4 minutes with the valve fully open. I've run it with 5 gallons with the valve open all the way, and it comes out to right around 8 minutes. That's not too bad, unless you're super filthy. Now of course you still got a couple other issues. One is, water source. If you bring 5 gallons of water with you well depending on the situation, that's a huge weight and waste. If you're at a campsite that has no showers but has a source of water, you're okay. I can't tell you how long it would take to actually heat the water up, but we all know it's it's an environmental Factor menagerie. So getting to the part of actually using it, it seems to work just fine. The only problem I can see you having is if you're any taller than about 2 ft there's going to be a problem. my estimations are, a a 6 ft tall person. would have to have this hanging about 10 ft off the ground at the handle. I'm not joking. otherwise. you're going to have to bend the tube and if you do that it cuts off the water flow. you also need to find a way to climb up whatever tree or post or what have you to hang it. And you're going to need something very sturdy to hold the weight. unfortunately that's just sort of the way physics works in this this gravity fed situation. The only other thing you can do is just well lay down on the ground. maybe on a tarp. But I don't know if this is sort of just a convenience item that's not really convenient, but yet it's still more convenient than running around with nasty bits. But in the end, for the money, it's a solid backup plan.
