Best of the Best

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well worth the price. Superb shorts with pockets and drawstring. Drys very quickly. Great for running, kayaking and other sports. Just purchased another pair to add to my collection of four. Highly recommend these shorts.

Great Shorts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable and stylish! I wear these for work and they are breathable and light. However, I do wish they had belt loops as the little string just isn't enough to keep them from sagging. If you buy these for light activities like hiking or kayaking, they would be amazing! Pockets are big enough for an iPhone which is a HUGE plus with women's clothes.

Great for outdoor activities

I desperately needed new shorts for outdoor activities, so I bought 3 different models of Columbia shorts to try. Happy to say I kept them all. These were my 2nd favorite of the three. I compared them to the PFG Backcast water short and the Bogata Bay stretch short. For reference, I'm 5'6" and weigh 185 with a pear-shaped body. I got size XL. All 3 pairs fit, although they are just barely big enough to wear without pulling across the pockets. Since I'm losing some weight, I didn't want to get a bigger size. Of the 3 pairs, this one felt just very slightly tighter. The fabric on the Sandy River is smooth and lightweight, but seems like it will be very durable. It has no stretch, which is the only reason it's my second fave after the Bogata Bay. The drawstring and pockets are welcome features, and I'll get tons of wear out of these shorts for walking, kayaking, gardening, and other outdoor activities.
