Good-looking cabinet at a reasonable price

This is a great cabinet.  I’m thrilled that I took a chance on it and it turned out as good as I was hoping for.  I didn’t buy it on Walmart because it wasn’t available on that date.  I got mine at a big box store.—Directions:  Easy to follow and well-illustrated (until the plastic anchors, more on that later)—Ease of assembly:  Easy.  Everything was numbered and lettered.  Just had to methodically follow the directions.  The directions say to hand-screw everything, but I used a small battery-operated Black & Decker drill.—Time to assemble:  I’m slow.  It took me 2 hrs or so.  I laid everything out, in order, across the living room floor and took my time putting it together.—The plastic anchors:  The last step was to insert the plastic wall anchors, if you have drywall-type walls.  Since the instructions didn’t say I’d need a drill, I couldn’t figure out how to insert the wall anchors.  Anyhoo, I found a YouTube video that showed the anchors can be tapped in to start and then screwed in the rest of the way.  That video also recommended drilling a hole the same diameter as the metal screw for a cleaner install.  I drilled a hole then tapped in the plastic anchor, then screwed in the plastic anchor the rest of the way.—The big lift:  This was the hardest part by far.  I’m a little dainty lady and the finished cabinet was a bit weighty for me.  Its intended location was high on the wall behind the toilet.  Wow, like wrestling an alligator.  I found a sturdy box in my garage to place on top of the toilet tank and was able to rest the cabinet on that, but I had to heavy lift the extra inches I needed to get to the wall anchors.  Plus, it was difficult to find the wall anchors since I couldn’t see them and I couldn’t feel for them because I needed both arms to hold the cabinet up.  But....I did it.  I totally scratched the wall up trying to match the metal screw to the first wall anchor.  Good thing the cabinet blocks out those scratches.  The second anchor was much easier.  Everything is level and plumb.  So, it can be done if you’re a lightweight like me, but I’m thinking it’s better if you have a partner for the big lift.—Safety:  Obviously, nobody wants to be, er, reading the newspaper and be boinked on the head by a falling cabinet.  As far as I can tell, my cabinet is rock solid.  I tried pulling it off the wall; it doesn’t move at all.  It’s like it’s adhered to the wall.  The instruction booklet states the weight limit for contents is 25 lbs per each of the 3 shelves (75lbs total).  If you prefer, there is always the option to drill into studs.—The look:  Classic.  Not cheap.  The white paint has a really nice sheen; I’m guessing eggshell or satin paint.  I like the magnets that hold the doors closed.—The quality:  It looks great, but consider that it’s a relatively inexpensive cabinet made with MDF wood and what looks like a single coat of paint.  Not sure, maybe its two light coats.  It does chip fairly easily.  Nonetheless, if you’re careful with it, it’ll look good for many years.  I have similar cabinets that I put up years ago in my laundry room and those cabinets still look great.—If I could change anything, what would it be?:  I prefer French cleats for hanging cabinets.  The inexpensive, but great-looking, cabinets I purchased a few years back for my laundry room used French cleats.  That method was super easy to install the cabinets, super easy to remove them when I painted the room, and super easy to put them back up.

A BIT OF A ROUGH START, BUT A HAPPY ENDING ...  BOTH PRODUCT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE GET 2 THUMBS UP :)

The first one I ordered ended up being incorrectly manufactured so, when assembled here, the cabinet doors did not align properly, which resulted in a visually, unappealing finished product.  Fortunately, once I contacted the company and explained my dilemma, they were happy to send out another, free of charge.  Sadly, it meant an additional cost to me to get my handyman back out to assemble the second one and hang it (I'm sure most anyone else can assemble them without hiring someone, but I'm not one of them!), but, the hassle aside, I'm quite happy with the finished product.  It looks just like their advertised picture, seems very sturdy, and provides ample storage for my needs.
