So I have a few CNC lasers in my tiny workshop, my diode was having issues venting with the old set up. As an experiment I wanted to try a straight tube once you get past the point where temp would be an issue. I decided to try this clear tube to see if the smoke pools back at any point so I could narrow down the issue. It turned out the old bendy tube was the issue and the slight drapping areas cause a back flop of smoke. So I think I'll migrate to straight tubes. I will say that even though the smoke is pretty clear (plywood designed for lasers so less glue) I could see if I looked closely the impact of turning up my exhuast fan. The straight way though made it so that wasn't really needed. Having the ability to see what is going on was a huge bonus and let me see how I needed to seat stuff for the most impact. The tube itself is pretty durable because it got dropped on the cement while I messed with applying the couplers. Awesome product. Sorry for the super messy picture I'm in the middle of trying to play tetris with my machines, but as you can see the tube works awesome. Certainly not a traditional hook up but there are 3 machines in there now so whatever works.
