I like the idea of the Murphy bed in the way it looks online. When I received the bed it came in three separate boxes extremely heavy boxes. What I did then is I removed the parts from each box and line them up down my hall and in the room that they were going into. And then came the instructions... I'm really good at putting things together! But this was something else! The directions started off horribly with the instructions to put together. All of the parts list was accurate but starting with I believe it's board seven that's where the problem came in I spent probably 4 plus hours putting these pieces together just from the first two pages and it wasn't working right. So I contacted the company and asked them for some updated instructions because these were kind of as if they were translated from Spanish into English or maybe Chinese into English but it didn't translate correctly. So after they did get me something of a better set of plans I was able to get it put together. I like the fact that it's it's a Murphy bed. I think it's way too wide for the size of a mattress that's in the cabinet and even if you get a 6-in mattress that you buy separately You still have the cabinets I think too deep. It looks wonderful except it's really huge. In something I don't care for is I have brand new oak floors and this thing has nothing on the bottoms to help so you can move it work lights on your floor easily. That to me is problematic because now my brand new oak floor has white paint on it. And again the mattress is it says it's I think a 4-in it's not really comfortable but it comes with it so I guess it's better than sleeping on the floor. And again there are some upgrades some gel foam 6-in that I'm looking into but I think this is nice for guest room it's just the amount of time I have into it makes it not cost effective I mean when I'm having to build my own furniture and still being charged as if somebody else built it I don't like that So if you want to reduce the cost by about $175 for building my Murphy bed then I would recommend it but until then I think it's overpriced for what you get even though it looks nice it's way too bulky and mattress is not comfortable maybe in a huge room it would look different I have standard size bedrooms but yeah if you aren't used to putting things together don't buy it unless you know somebody who's really good at putting things together and this isn't screws these are some weird connector pieces that I'm worried about because they're not screwed so you're not screwing this bed together they're these little metal tabs that you just turn onto some tags that are already sticking out of the pieces. So you're going to need help carrying it in or talking several hundred pounds of material and you're going to need to get a new contact company immediately for the updated version of the instructions. If you want to have this Murphy bed again I don't recommend it just because of the amount of work that you have to do
