Smoky & Flavorful Charred Tomato Salsa

This is one of my favorite salsas. The recipe is from Rick Bayless, the famous chef that operates several Mexican restaurants in Chicago. The tomatoes are charred and that infuses this salsa with a pronounced rich, smoky flavor. I find the taste irresistible. It pairs well with chips, tacos, burritos and eggs. The jalapenos are finely diced and provide a nice kick to the finish but I would rate this as closer to a Mild than Medium salsa. The Walmart price for a 6-pack of Frontera Jalapeno Cilantro salsa is the lowest I've found anywhere.
